Tools for Assembling an a Fan Controller

You'll require a few things to build the fan controller. Most of these you'll likely already have. If you don't already have them, they're all very useful so now is the time to pick them up.

Tools

soldering_iron.jpg A soldering iron. Let's be honest, you know what the right iron for you is.
side_clippers.jpg Side clippers.
multi_meter.jpg A multi-meter. It doesn't need to be awesome, it should at-least measure voltage and continuity (with beep).
Needle nose pliers. You'll need these to assemble the fan connector's plug, just a small impliment capable of bending metal.
wire_strippers.jpg Wire Strippers. You may want these to evenly strip the connecting wire. You can get by with your side clippers though.

Supplies

solder.jpg Some solder. I suggest .040 or lower diameter.

Other Equipment

fan.jpg A fan. You'll need a fan to control! The kit was designed with 12V 3pin PC style fans in mind, but it should work with fans from 7 through 35 volts. (It'll work with 5V fans too, but you'll need to bypass the 7805 regulator.)
